Just thought I'd put out the annual comment about over calling when you go out scouting. It's that time of year when we all start sneaking out and doing a little scouting and also the time of year when the woods start sounding like the turkey philharmonic orchestra has been turned loose. Please, especailly those of you new to the sport, keep in mind that turkeys can and do get really call shy after repeated yelps, clucks and goobles turn out to have orginated from a truck on the side of the road or a hunter standing openly in the woods. I would suggest getting out before daylight and listening for birds, using your loacator calls more and when you do call don't keep blasting away after the birds have responded. It's not unusual to see flocks actaully turn and run when they hear a call after repeated calling to by hunters. I personally can't wait for the 15th of April to get here!!!
