Did I read it right?
« on: March 01, 2012, 08:18:29 PM »
Was reading the Seattle Times Outdoor section on line. Scroll down and there's a blurb about the multi season license. He's saying that if you're lucky enough to draw the license and buy it then you can hunt elk either side of the state. Is that right? :dunno:

Absolutely.

 :yeah:

Been that way since day 1 of those permits.

Cheap entertainment. It costs $100 to go out for dinner and a movie and that lasts about 4 hours. This gives you the opportunity to hunt all 3 weapons for what...2-3 months?

If you don't want to pay, don't apply.

$180, $200 I don't care, still cheaper than going to Montana. I've seen more elk in Washington than Montana anyway. I'm sure we weren't in the right spots over there.  I put in yesterday for the multi elk, crossing my fingers now. If I get it and since I love to get out and hunt that's gonna be a plus even if I don't get one. I'll be putting in for all ther permits that's allowed, bulls, cows, I don't care.

I have 2 points for elk, and none for deer. I put in for deer this year, not elk. One choice per year for me. I have been rotating elk/deer. Not much of a streak I guess, but so far the big NOT SELECTED for me in the elk category.

Last year was my first year and I put in for both and got the deer. Didn't hunt archery and only hunted muzzleloader a couple days. Got my deer during the modern season second day. Figured $180 was too spendy for a blacktail so I just did elk this year.

I drew the multi season elk once, saw how much it was, and at the time just could not afford it. So I missed out on hunting all 3 seasons.  I ended up harvesting my first elk that year anyway, spike in modern season. Glad it worked out!
I felt like a one legged cat trying to bury a terd on a frozen pond!

You will get your deer permit this year.  You won't get an elk permit.  I guarantee both predictions.  ;)

I just put in for deer and elk for the first time this year. I will still hunt east side for elk if I get drawn.

you should buy the point option on the other one that way you are at least building points
