Hello, Im new to hunting in Washington state. Ive been around guns my whole life, but because my father doesnt hunt and because of my previous work I didnt have time to hunt. I hike and fish a lot so Im not new to the outdoors. I have a son now and I want to pass on hunting on to him when he gets old enough to do so.
I took the hunter safety course and I have the guns.
Im looking for advice, tips, nearby areas to hunt in, and scouting tips before the season starts... If anyone wants a new hunting partner that doesnt know much let me know  :chuckle:
I want to hunt around west side of mountains around I90 or Highway 2.  Anything advice would be appreciated.
PM or post on here.

Thanks Alex

Welcome aboard, Alex. You'll find that, most hunting forums don't take too kindly to new people asking for specific info on areas to hunt. As was mentioned.there is.tons of info archived here already.  Buddying up with someone is great for many reasons. One piece of.advice I would share is to be willing to travel more to find areas to hunt. Not sure why you mentioned Hwy 2 and I-90 but if its to lessen the gas expense as traveling from Kirkland then this may not be the.best hobby to get into, especially when you're new. you have much exploring to.do. I had to learn this the hard way myself.

Heres my  :twocents:,

a) look at GMU maps, topo maps, and google earth and find a nice remote area
b) get a comfy pair of boots  :)
c) look at harvest records for the areas you find and scout it out
d) this webiste is a free resource with TONS of info available and feel free to ask any question other than WHERE to hunt

I constantly learn stuff on this website that you never would have thought of. good luck bud! I live in Kirkland as well and theres plenty of GREAT hunting within 2 hours
