I would do it for sure! Sounds like a blast!

A couple things though, I'm sure snoqualmie/stevens would want bucket loads of money to host this kind of thing. To draw a lot of people from out of state I would think you would need to have lots of advertising. What about permits? I'm sure a lot more goes into these types of things than meets the eye.

My vote would go to snoqualmie, close to seattle and the eastside.

Does any  one know somebody in the higher ups at the pass. I believe a good place to start is to see what the resort expects. I know a few people who have worked there for years I will try to find out who the right person to contact is. It seems like people are serious about going. Maybee we could put out a few survays and come up with a rough number of people expected.

The key to making it happen is to get a facility to go along with the idea, once there is a host facility I think there is enough of us as a group to get our local clubs and shops involved and to get sponsors from the big boys.  I know ALWINE would help with this and he would be a good one to rallye sponsors.  I would probably be able to acquire targets from multiple clubs with a little kickback for replacement of ruined shoot out ones if that many people showed.  This could definetly work, I think you would mostly draw from Idaho, Canada and a few from Montana like the Trophy Taker guys.  With good advertisement and prizes it could be a success, we should try and roll something out for 2013!!!!  Snoqualmie is my vote its the main pipeline for East and West and centrally located!

It would be awesome to have something like this is WA.  I'm thinking about going down this year for the shoot. I heard on a bowcast podcast that their adding a new event too. A 1 mile or so race on the mountain with shooting stations throughout the course, overall time and score wins it. Limited to 50 competitors this year.

Snoqualimie is as "centerally located" as Seattle for the area you are talking about drawing from.

The LaGrande club already does this same type of shoot; they ride lifts up at Anthony Lakes Ski area and shoot their way down. Plus, that resort is centrally located (at least according to Google Earth) to your draw area.  I think you may be better off helping them promote and grow their shoot as "Grand Adventure: Shoot of a Lifetime" instead of making another Seattle shoot.

I do agree that it looks like a heck of a good time, though and would love to go to one in the Northwest.  Don't expect many to come from Idaho, Montana or Oregon to a Seattle shoot, though.

LaGrande does not have a major metropolitan area, hence why it may not be as well known or in my humble opinion as successful as a Seattle based event. There are tons of people to pull from in the Seattle, Tacoma, Everett & the eastside.

If done right it could be just as big as Bowcast at the Bird. Snoqualmie pass seems the most logical as there is also some pretty good resorts there, i.e. Suncadia. Bearhunter is right.. First step is getting the ski resort to buy into it.. 2013 is a realistic timeframe.

You'll likely need to have your local clubs step up and officially host this so their insurance can cover the resort's liability concerns.  Sure hope you can get something up and running!

Totally agree! That is why I reached out to the guys at The Nock Point in Mount Lake Terrace. Bob Hickey and company seem very interested. They also have a 501c3 entity, Next Step Archery that can help coordinate the event. No doubt that something of this scale requires some people within the industry and know how.

All I can do is bang the drum and lend a hand really.. so if anyone else knows some archery shops across WA, I suggest sending them the You Tube clip and suggesting a consolidated effort. Its a great chance for businesses to market themeselves as well as having a great time shooting around the hills right here in our home state of WA.

Yeah bowcast looks awesome, i have wanted to go for the last two years, but time money and family have made it hard, however something here would be for sure, count me in for shooting and helping where possible.

Still might try and make it to bowcast this year hopefully.

There was some footage of Bowcast at the Bird on Waddell's show the other day. Waddell and the Full Moon Productions guys. It looks like a blast.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

Utah has Bowcast at the Bird, Idaho has the Bogus Challenge 3D http://ultralighthunter.net/2012/02/14/the-bogus-challenge-3d-archery-shoot, Oregon has the shoot in the LaGrande so I agree, we need to get one set up in Washington!

Heck, why not a four state tour in the future? ;)  This will take a lot of effort to pull off but I would be willing to help.

That is where I saw it first too. First thing I thought is that we should have this here at one of the passes!

yeah i first saw it on a train to hunt clip and then on heartland bowhunter one of their extras, so i did research and it looks awesome, i didn't know there were other surrounding states doing simila stuff, that would be pretty sweet to make it to a couple during the summer.
