Bear around Baker Lake?

Im new to bear hunting and have been told that there are some bear around Baker Lake area.  Anyone know where to go up there? Roads?

Yes, there are bear up there. Plenty.
I've seen 'em as close as 100yds from the Baker Lake CampGround (the one near Upper Baker Damn/Depression Lake).
I've also almost roadkilled two of 'em up there in the past decade.

One thing you will run into in many areas up there are "granolas" (a term for tree-hugging yups). They have a lot of high lakes and scenic trails around Baker Lake...including amenities for horses.

I'd prefer not to post a bunch of areas online, but I'll PM you some general info. Check your inbox.

I hunt animals because veggies are too easy to stalk.

Speeking of granolas.....nothing like seeing the look on thier face when you come walking out of the thick dark underbrush with a big 'ol rifle in your hands, a pack on your back, and a mountainee look in your eyes....

and here they thought they were the only humans that had ever been there!!!!!  :rockin: :hunter:
