Looks good cohoho!

robodad did you pour your jigs?  what kind of paint did you use for your base coat?

No I bought them from a guy that was selling them really cheap and they have this silverish paint on them so I just wire wheeled them back to plain lead then started with a bare metal primer, then on some I used a spray vinyl paint in white and on the others i used refrigerator epoxy spray paint, right now they are drying and when they are done I'll clear coat them. I am using a few different combinations to find out which ones will have the toughest most durable finish, once I figure out what works best I'll be painting some for Cohoho !!!

I highly doubt a Ling Cod gives a rip about how good the paint job is. Nice job both of you guys.

Do some 4 1/2 oz and you could jig up a king while you're at it.

I can show you which colors work for me. The ones you have probably would too. Mike is close, they bite the white! My favorite might be tough.

I do have some I painted all white, I have had decent results with that dark green over white but I just used a rattle can to paint them and that's a bit messy, I have picked up some paints for my air brush so I'll be able to be a bit more precise in where the paint goes instead of all over so I'm looking forward to giving them a try, I'm also looking for a top coat that is bullet proof and compatible with the enamel.

I think colors that contrast each other work best, black and white should be a pretty good color combo at least for the deeper fish, and florescence for the shallower areas !!

What color did you have in mind ??

Gold body with a green line above that and a purple back. Silver eye with black pupil is #1. White body with a red eye is # 2. Basic Point Wilson Darts.

I'll have to see what I can come up with, I know that #2 will be a no brainer but #1 might be a challenge depending on what I can find to do a gold body !!

That one would be a challenge. When you are out and about look at the Darts and you'll see what I'm talking about. Good luck. If you need a picture let me know.

Google Point Wilson Dart. It's the Blue/Gold Candlefish, and the other one is Pearl/White. Those are one's I like. The Blue has a purple tint to me. I'll give you one when I get a chance.

Hey Mike them look just fine, I don't see any reason they won't catch fish !! Nice Work !!

Hey Tom, How do you suppose I get the gold color on them candlefish and how to make it shine ?

My experience with trying to get a metallic effect with paint turns out to be a bad experience like spray chrome or gold etc... so have you or anyone any ideas how to get it to shine ??

What do you make of this contraption ?? I was looking for something I could essentially bake the finish onto these jigs but I don't want to buy another range/oven just for that so I made use of my dehydrator, it is controlled heat from about 95-155 degrees and I can just hang them in there after I paint and their done in just a few hours instead of days !!!
