Just curious why there is no hook on the bottom, I know we are only allowed 1 single barbless hook but why not put it on the bottom ?

For banging off the bottom and less chance of hanging up on the rocks and or other stuff on the bottom.

Just curious, do you ever pour the weedless types.  I save a lot of gear with them up in the Straights. If for some reason you have a problem getting your mold, I believe that I have the type you are looking for and would loan it to you.

Do you happen to have a photo of these weedless type's ? I'd be interested in that for sure !!

I don't have a picture but have plenty of weedless setups for the saltwater. Not sure what area you are in, but I am in the puyallup[ area and would be glad to give you some. Also if you are going to the catfish get together, I can get you some there also.

robodad, I took some  pictures of a couple of molds that I have. The one that shows the actual  jig head, I use the heck out of that one. I fish a lot for sea bass, ling cod and other fish up at Sekiu and it saves me a ton of gear along with a lot less frustration by one heck of a lot less snags. It make a huge difference in quality time up there.

Them look interesting, never seen em with that other thingy on them. In the midwest we used something kinda similar with a piece of wire that went from the eye of the hook to the point similar to a carabiner design sort of looking !!

Might get some use out of the 1 1/2oz and 2oz diamond jigs though if we can figure out how to do nickel plating !!

That "thingy" on them makes them work very well. When people at Sekiu see me use them, they ask me for some. I asked the tackle shop up there why they don't sell them and they said because they like to sell more tackle and these would reduce their sales. They are especially good when I take people fishing that have a problem with casting and wind up in the kelp. That "thingy" is like soft bristles on a hair brush.

Sweet, sounds like something I could use, i like fishing in the weedy areas but hate catchin the weeds, maybe it would be a good seller here in Port Angeles at Swains, you might ask them, i know the sporting goods guys there and they might find a spot for them? ? Never know! !
