kifaru sleeping bags
« on: March 06, 2012, 07:22:46 AM »
does anyone use or have tried a kifaru sleeping bag, if so, what do you think?

price seems comparable to most of the REI sold bags but the specs seem awesome...

The reg 20 degree bag is $300. you can get a cats meow for $120. kifaru makes awesome gear but your avg hunter is gonna be hard pressed these days to spring for a bag that costs that much and isnt that much different.

similarbgs ive looked at as far as temp rating and price are around a pound heavier.
a 20deg 2lb bag for $300 seems like a deal compared to most other brands ive seen.
are there other bags that fit this bill im missing?

I have used the cats meow for about 6 years in all kinds of weather and it has been great.  I would say that the $150-$180 is not worth trimming less than a pound.   :twocents:

20* bag EN rated and 1lb 14 oz for $299

I have the 20* bag and have zero complaints.  It is good down to 20, and personally I would take it into the teens...  I pack it into an 11 liter (Small) Sea to summit compression sack.  It packs extrememly small.
