I would have to agree that field turkeys are pretty tough to kill. I've always had a tough time getting gobblers in or around a field to come to calling/dekes. Then again, I'm not much for sitting around waiting for things to happen. I like action.
On Tyson's hunt, he started to call and then I told him something like "He knows where we're at so you can probably stop calling now." Then I pulled a real friendly move and started calling.. and often. Next time I will definitely let the hunter do more calling. I guess I enjoy it too much. On my hunt (Trevor) I think I was the only one calling. And on yelp's hunt, it was all him. He sounded like a whole flock of turkeys and that worked real good. You could see the hen come in looking for the flock. Didn't work out so good for the gobbler in tow, but it sure did for us!
