Sig p238 HDW
« on: March 07, 2012, 10:47:44 AM »
Anyone have experience with this pistol? Took my girlfriend to five or six gun shops and this is what fit her the best. she doesn't care for plastic guns so that kinda narrowed down the choices given the fact she's only 4'11 and maybe a 100lbs and doesn't want a revolver.

I am looking into buying the 238 extreme and all the reviews I have read are good.  I love the feel and how small it is.  I like the extreme cause it has the extended mag wich allows one more round and it fits my large hands better.  I say go for it    Just make sure she practices so when the time comes to use it she is proficient in the operations of an auto.  Revolvers are a lot easier to use and have far less that can go wrong with them.

Cheers  :brew:

she really liked the extended mag with the pinkie extension. they had one in the HDW which we both really like because it has the stainless frame instead of Aluminium. she also liked the heavier feel of it.

My 5' tall wife loves her's Sig. She is not into plastic guns either. Several forums consider it the nicest shooting of the micro .380's.   she has the laser and my grip needs some practice on this firearm.  I would like the extended mag but it's not mine.

I have shot 3 different p380's, liked them all. already have a 380 caliber gun so i never got one myself. You might have her look at the P938.  Its a P380 scaled to 9mm. A much better caliber for personal pertection.

I carry the 238HDW. I love it! Accurate, and a joy to carry. At work I always have radios and pagers on my belt, so when I am off duty, having the little sig with me is not a comfort issue, cause I am use to having stuff on my belt. Great gun, works like a 1911. I bought the 7 round mag with the pinkie extension, it was a must. Cant say enough good things about the 238!
I felt like a one legged cat trying to bury a terd on a frozen pond!

i heard they are having a hard time stocking them. but just call around to different shops, or have them order one for you. i imagine cabelas would have one. As far as the internet, those that have had them are sold out. might have to wait a while if this is the gun you want. some times the wait is worth it
