My new rifle...
« on: March 07, 2012, 04:12:25 PM »
Here is a shot of my new rifle to replace the ones that were stolen last year.  Taking awhile to replace them, but here is the first one.  Remington 700, .300 Win mag w/Leupold 3x9.  Last thing to do is boresight it then ready to send some rounds down range.   :bfg:

I am thinking about going to the rifle range at JBLM.  Would be nice to wring it out on a range with known distances.  Anyone have any thoughts about the base's range?   Am guessing it should be a pretty nice facility, but am wanting to shoot off a bench while tuning my rifle up and don't know what type set-up is there.

Any info will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

They have bench tables at every lane. The bench is next to the table not behind it though. Nice outdoor shoot. Berms are set up at 25, 50, 100, 200, and 300. Steel is allowed to be shot as long as it's past 25 yards. Bring whatever targets you want. They provide 1 target/stand per lane. I think civilians cost 7 a piece.

If the weather is disgusting the range is not used much. If it's kind of nice and you don't show up no later than 10am, you will be waiting. Civilians are welcome on the range. It is run by civilians. It's good times and only one guy is kind of annoying. He's new.
