I think keep them seperate is a good thing.

It is a good thing to see the youth get on here and ask questions without getting the usual smart aleck comments.

I see a question asked like what are some areas to try for a blacktail deer, a lot of time I look at where it is posted, if it is a youth board I try to answer the best I can.

If it is just under the general population I usually disregard it or read all the comments like get out and do some scouting, find an area. etc....

I do not know much about the women one. But to me the youth is an important one.  :twocents:

I agree w/ Blkbearklr.

I definitely think a youth board is a good thing.

A separate women board I don't really know if it is that beneficial.

Why not eliminate the polls board to make room for a women's board if the women's board is necessary :dunno:

I feel like polls should just be placed in whatever category is most appropriate. :twocents:

So that we get more accurate input I added a poll, please vote and continue to comment.  :hello:

I think this is going in the wrong direction...

We have two distinct groups here, that need a place to post for just their group.  Women hunting and fishing is a big difference from Youth hunting & fishing...

two distinct set of players, two distinct set of posts.

I mean we have fishing and bowfishing...   I am sorry, but if I was a lady here, or a youth, it would be slightly upsetting that we are the minority on this forum, and get treated like what we want to post and talk about with others like us (women or youth) does not matter.

Just my  :twocents:
Having seperate boards for both ladies and youth makes them minorities. Why not eliminate both and have them post with everyone else?

FWIW - We have discussed adding the bowfishing with another board, as well as combining others. I dont think we really need two dog boards. :dunno:

What happened to the age of the member being right next to their name?  I thought that was beneficial.  It was especially helpful to know when there was a kid posting.

If we don't have the age listed, it might be worth having a separate youth board so the kids have a place to ask questions and meet each other.  That is my feeling on it anyway........ :twocents:

I think the age thing went away when we got the little squares under our name. Could be just a check box that didn't get rechecked after an update or maybe it went away?

I think they should be kept seperate.  Women ("lady") hunters get relegated to a lower position than the manly men hunters all the time.  There is no reason that this site should fall into the status quo pit of including them with the kids.  BTW, no offense meant to the youth hunters out there as well.

And, for the women hunters out there, we know you are, get to writing more stories of your hunts and sharing your accomplishments, advise, and disappointments, with the rest of us.   ;)

Well I think, for the time being, lets combine the Women and Youth boards.  They are both some what slow right now.  That will open a spot.  In the future if they become more active we can revisit seperating them.

Having atleast one Board focused on Women and Youth is a good place to post activites or events specifically for those users.

I voted to keep the kids' board only.  I notice that, for the most part,  it doesn't matter which board it's in; anyone can reply if they want and I figure thats how it should be.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming, "WOO HOO! WHAT A RIDE!!"

I dont see why the womens board is there in the first place. Every time Ive gone on there, they talk about things that the rest of us would be talking about. I think the youth board should be seperate but the age limit should be lowered to 16, because after that you can hunt by yourself and do your own scouting. Im all for helping someone out if I can. I like that the "ladies" board is there.  I think it is a good place for the few women that are on here to post so that their thoughts/adventures don't just get lost in the crowd of male voices.
