If a person found something like that can you keep it or is it illegal.
JohnVH, I think the rule is to keep someone from poaching an animal and then coming by later to claim they just "found" it.
That is a cool and rare find. I believe that would count as natural winterkill here and yes you could keep it. I am not sure when that photo was taken but If it was recent I sure would like to find a spot with that little snow.

You will get fined for it and it taken away. Amazing pic to the op, first time I've seen it also.
This picture looks really similar to a picture that was going around the Internet a few years ago.
