bullet seconds?
« on: March 11, 2012, 09:57:19 PM »
So I've heard of a lot of people talking about getting bullet seconds. Do you have to be local to the factory to get these? I started pricing all of my initial setup for reloading and I'm kind of disappointed with the bulk purchase amounts. Buying 100 bullets at a time is enough to get me one range session at a time. No Bueno! I figure if I can order seconds it will offset the cost of shipping? Anyone got any tips to do this?

Nosler 2nds are a good deal for the most part.
Sometimes they put the 2nds on sale as well, making them an even better deal.
They ship USPS flat rate boxes and just round up to the nearest $ normally.

They charge 14.00 bucks to ship 50 bullets or 500 bullets, whatever they can fit in a flat rate box. So it doesn't save you hardly anything if your not purchasing a larger quanity at a time as compared to purchasing them from a local retailer. I usually get a order together between 3 or 4 guys when I do my orders. They are a great deal when they are on sale and they have shot no different than than the firsts, even at extended ranges.

Appreciate it guys. I'll save up brass and buy new rounds til I'm sitting on at least another 1000 pieces of brass and then order about 5k. I figure that way I can get that flat rate box weighing more than me  :yike:

I get the Varmint Nightmares from Midsouth Shooters Supply.  (I think they're Noslers)  Best price I've found so far, and just as accurate as the high-priced spread!
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

Nosler 2nds are cosmetic in nature and don't have any affect whatsoever on performance. Great price and just as good.
