corned beef and cabbage ST Patrick day anyone

Any red meat will work.  Put a cup of the pickling liquid in with some additional water when you cook it.  I do mine in the crockpot.  I'll throw some cabbage right in with the roast a copule hours before we eat.  I love the taste of the cabbage cooked in the meat broth.

my sons and their families will be here,gonna do 7 briskets,some cabbage quartered and wrapped in foil with butter and hot sauce on the barbie, and have a blast with my grandchildren

Corned beef or pastrami is good.  That cooked cabbage looks and tastes like slimy crap...
