Yeah man, it's pretty fun at a NASCAR race. I have been to Pheonix 3 times. There is nothing on the planet as loud as 40 some cars at the start with open headers. I want to go to Daytona or Talledega next.

Be a lot more interesting if they would take a few right turns every now and then, my old man watches it religiously.  Hope you have fun and the weather cooperates.

Actually I don't even like the races NASCAR does on the road courses.  I like the side by side, banging on each other races.  Road courses with their right and left turns are usually single file with passing only taking place in a couple of turns, not my favorite type of race.  ;)

That has got to be the best track to watch a race.  Lots of bumpin and grinding.  (no not that kind)

I've been to Bristol, Richmond, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Fontana, Martinsville, Dover, Loudon, Texas, Talladega, Daytona.

Bristol is by far the best place to watch a race from the stands because you are so close and on top of everything.

Talladega and Dayton are by far the worst because you can't see alot, you get way better view of the races watching TV.  But they are both a great "experience".

I was lucky enough in 06 to get to go to Daytona for the AMA 200 motorcycle race. I was the gas man on the pit crew. We qulified and started 73rd. After 2 1/2 hours we finished 16th. It is quite an experience to roll through the tunnel at Daytona and go into the infield. To be on pit row was cool also. I have never been to a short track for NASCAR. It's like racing in a salad bowl.

Damn lucky *censored* Machias.  That is a track on my bucket list.  Been too Sears Point 2001 and 2002 and Vegas in 2002.  The only reason I went to Sear Point both years was because I got free tickets and I lived near the track.  My daughter, son-in-law and grand daughter are stationed down in Texas so hoping to get to see one of the two races there and of course visit them

Hope you have a great time!  Bristol has always been one of the tracks I've wanted to go to

I have been to Bristol 3 times and hope to go again this year for the night race.  No better 1/2 mile track for speed, beaten and banging.  You'll have a blast for sure.

Best race at Bristol ever- When they covered it in dirt and race the World of Outlaws on it! They were turning lap times almost 10 seconds faster than NASCAR. On dirt!  8)

X10000
I have never seen a NASCAR race, oval racing is pretty boring.
I did work timing/scoring for USAC when they used to run the Indy 500.  I was there for rookie orientation (like a hall of fame list of coaches), time trials and race day.
Nothing like being able to touch the hot cars.
I still prefer road racing and have been lucky enough to be course worker for lots of amateur (SCCA, Skip Barber) and pro races and some of the most beautiful tracks in the country.
At the old Brooklyn, Michigan track the fencing hung out over the racing surface and youcould literally look straight down at the cars when they were on the outside line.
Over 200mph and 5 feet below your face.
Awesome.
