Looking for buddies

Hi everybody,
My name is Jason. I am 29 and I moved to Western Washington from Southern Idaho a few years back. Since I have been here, I haven't been hunting at all and only fishing a handful of times. Granted, I was really busy with school, work, family, etc... but now that I have more free time, it is driving me crazy to not be out there in the wild doing something.
I have taken a couple spotting / camping trips just to get out there and check out some areas that I have read about on this message board, but so far haven't came across too many animals.
I would like to find someone or a few people that are interested in hunting deer and/or elk (modern rifle) ...OR... anyone interested in hunting small game and coyotes. I have gear, guns, a dependable 4x4, and some experience but I wouldn't call myself an expert. I reside just north of Seattle but I am willing to meet up with anyone and travel 2-3 hours or whatever it takes. I am just pretty clueless about the areas and access (even after reading the regs).
I would love to be able to bring home some meat in 2012, but even more important to me is to just meet some people who are into hunting, fishing, camping, and the outdoors and just getting out there. I still haven't found anywhere that I can set up some targets and shoot my rifle in the mountains. It seems like everything in Western Washington is HEAVILY regulated. It is a really tough adaptation coming from a place where we used to hike around and shoot guns all the time without anyone knowing/caring at all.
I am also into photography and have a pretty nice DSLR camera set up so if anyone is into wildlife and/or landscape photography and wants to do some hikes for that kind of stuff, I am down.

Where area are you in?
Tips for the day are:
Buy a decent boat and a truck with heated seats
you will definitely have people wanting to fish/hunt with you!

Thanks for the replies. I am sending some messages to you guys that want to try to meet up.
I have a dependable SUV (sorry no heated seats) with a trailer hitch.... and I do have a boat. The boat is definitely more of a waterski/wakeboard type open bow fiberglass 19' boat, but I have fished a few lakes in the area with it and would definitely be up for more with some company/help.
I've been looking at new rifles lately and the general consensus around here seems to be to go with a .308 or 30-06 for most big game. In Idaho, everyone used 7mm mag and 300 win mag. Does anyone have any input or recommendations on what caliber rifle I should go with for mainly blacktails, possibly some muleys and elk? I am thinking about a Tikka T3.
Oh... and by the way, I am going to check out the high power rifle clinic and competition at Snoqualmie Valley Rifle Club this Sunday (Feb 26th). I am not a member and you don't have to be to participate. It sounds like a good time and I have been wanting to check out that range anyways. They have a monthly pistol and rifle leagues. Here is the link to the rifle league (Info about Sunday's clinic is half way down the page)
http://www.svrifle.com/cmp.htm
If anyone would like to go with me or meet me there, send me a PM. By the way, I am in Seattle (near Green Lake).

Going to be meeting up with Derek.arnold1 as well as BigLuke1981 tomorrow around 3pm at Wing Dome (232 Central Way, Kirkland, WA) for some grub and beers.
Anyone else that wants to come is welcome. Just PM me or email me at nwpentax@gmail.com or meet us there.
Don't be shy!! I'd love to chat with some of you who have successfully hunted deer/elk in Western Washington. Fisherman welcome also!

Had a great time on Friday meeting up with Derek and Luke. Both great guys with a lot of experience and knowledge. Looking forward to doing some hunting and fishing with both of you soon!
I am going to try to get out Sunday and maybe another day or two this week since the weather is supposed to be pretty decent and try to find some sheds. If anyone is interested in going or have any suggestions on areas that might be good to check out, let me know.

Please include we in your next get-together. I'm in Redmond.
