Elk Hide

Here it is on our full size bed. Put it there just for the picture but after the odor goes away it'll end up on the back of the couch next to my deer hide I did.

That's what I'm going to do when I shoot a cow. Did you do it yourself and if so what did you use?

After doing my own deer hide there was no way I was going to try an elk hide!
I took it to a local taxi and he sent it to Idaho, don't know to who or where, $300 with shipping and everything. I thought that was a fair price. Took just a little over two months. Other than the odor I'm real happy with it.

It looks really nice...I keep saying I am going to get one like that, but just haven't done it. I wish I would have done it when my son get his first elk a few years ago. Big cow in the youth mudflow hunt.

I got a small one in the Mudflow a couple years ago with a muzzle stuffer and this one came from the Margaret during the modern permit hunt. Gonna keep trying for those cow tags.

Thanks, that doesn't sound bad at all, providing the smell comes out.
I did my own moose.....it was the backhide. Holy cow that was a project. It would have been worth the money I think.

Moosehide?!!!
Holy cow!! You musta needed a gymnasium to do one that big! There's no way I'd even think of doing a moose hide. After that deer hide that was the biggest I'll ever do but it did turn nice and with no bad odor either.
