High Point 995 9mm Carbine
« on: March 18, 2012, 01:30:51 PM »
Hy Guys,
I just got one of these little rifles, they look pretty good, I'm not a fan of high point products but the price was so reticules low I could not resist.  Does anyone on here shot one?  How do you like it?  It should be fun to shoot if it works :chuckle: :chuckle:

I just bought one of these with some gift cards I had... I haven't gotten a chance to shoot it yet but the reviews on them actually look pretty good compared to the hi point pistol that I had for a week before I gave it away.  I'm excited to shoot mine too but the wife has to many honey-dos right now   :bash:

I want one of those but I want a Glock compatible Kel-Tec 2000 more but I don't think they're making those anymore.  They accepted Glock magazines.

I own one and have put about 600 rounds through it, I have had a coupla feed issues with it, but mostly operator error. Mag loading issues for the most part, once it figured that out it has performed flawlessly. For the price, I'm quite happy with it......it's light, short, accuurate, easily operated in the dark, and sits in the corner by my bed. It packs a bit more woop-azz, than the ball bat that used to sit in that corner.

That's good to hear, I agree, the price is what made me buy it.  It look like the kel-tech for a third of the price tag.  I can't wait to put some rounds to it.  that there is some inexpensive shooting, a box of 20 rounds for my AR cost me $25, and a box of 50 9mm cost me $10, this should be fun!!  Thanks!

I paid under $300 for mine, think t was closer to $270. I put a cheap red dot sight on it, forward hand grip and picked up a coupla 15 round mags for it.

yeah I have one.. A friend of mine had it and I just had to have it, so I ended up getting a mossberg 590 for 240 bucks and then made him an offer he couldnt refuse. so now he has the 590 and I have the hi point. I didnt need a 4th pump shotgun and I really wanted the hi point. Its super accurate for a cheap 9mm carbine. Almost unbelieveable, and its reliable. The ergonomics kinda suck. Using the safety and switching mags is kinda akward, but for a fun and cheap plinker thats ok. I wouldnt ever use it for a defensive role or anything.
