I bagged my first banded Surf Scoter 2 years ago. I was called by the USGS to doulbe check the band numbers. The lady said I shot the oldest one on record. (9 years-5 months) Very cool. I looked it up today and I was beat by another hunter by One month. All well It is cool though. Check it out it is very cool.

Very cool. I shot a snow this year banded in 1992. Might be why the mature ones are a challenge to decoy.
