Handgun Billy 2010
« on: March 18, 2012, 05:21:47 PM »
Was going through some hunting photos to pass the time in the off season and decided I would post a couple pictures of the Billy I got in 2010 with my 454 Casull handgun.  I was fortunate to draw a goat tag back in the 80’s before it changed to OIL and got a nice billy so I decided with my last and final opportunity I would use the handgun.   I wasn’t looking for the biggest one on the mountain and thought the handgun would provide a challenging and memorable hunt.  I found this guy in a bachelor group with some real nice goats.  He wasn’t the biggest by any means but was respectable with good mass and provided the best shot opportunity for the handgun.   The 260 grain partition did a good job and I closed the book on my WA mt. goat hunting opportunities.

Very Very cool! I love hunting with a handgun and do it a go amount every year! That is a great goat as well! I sold my 454 casull not to long ago. Just was not using it and hurts my wrist because of a problem I have in them.

THANKS FOR SHARING

Goat Rocks Wilderness.  Six days scouting and three days hunting and a couple more packing out the goat and camp.  Camped 6.5 miles in and got the goat ~8 miles in.  Definitely got my exercise.

Unbelievably cool.   Thanks for sharing that awesome story.

I'd never have the guts to  go on an OIL hunt with a handgun.   That makes it quadruply awesome.
