Son's first Whistle Pig!

My Son and I  went out after school with a few of his buds and he got his first whistle pig with his new .22!  :IBCOOL:  We were helping out a campground who are over run with these things.  Got some great photos!

Yelp,  when did a Rock Ckuck become a whistle pig? I have never heard that term before and I was shooting Rock Ckucks clear back in the 70's.   Nice shootin boyz...........

that is awesome, can anyone shoot them buggers, i have always wanted to set up a couple hundred yards out and crack some with my 30-06, what awesome practice that would be, where can one go over there to shoot them, us wetsiders dont have any of them whistle pigs, though up on white pass along big rock slides there is some kinda of big ass fat pudgy mouse lookn things that look like they would be a blast to shoot with a .22 but i doubt it would be legal, i would like to find out but have no clue as to what the name is of them... :dunno:

Not good.  Ate one about 7 years ago doing survival training.  It really was the foulest meat I have ever eaten.  I have spoken to people that say the young ones are edible if you "cook them right" (not exactly sure what that means), but I can tell you without question that a big male roasted on a spit is absolutely "survival only" fare... :chuckle:
Most people only need to start gutting one and get a good whiff to know what I am talking about...
