Other predators come in before a lion
« on: March 21, 2012, 04:14:22 PM »
Just curious if any of you guys have had other predators (coyote, bear, bobcat, etc.) come into a call and have passed them up before a mountain lion shows up?

I have passed yotes why calling for bears and bobcats. Last time I was trying to target cats. I had been sitting on stand for about 25mins and not seen anything. A big male yote came flying in to about 20 yards. I could not pass a shotgun yote. Right as I blasted him. I saw a cat go flying back down the mouth on the draw I was calling in :bash: Like most cats he snuck in and was sitting there watching things. I just had not picked him out :bash: Leasson leared :bash:

I did that with a bear last August. I was calling a huge draw where 3 clear cuts came together. After half hour of nothing i noticed a yote trotting through one of the clearings about 300 yards out. Having not seen any bears i decided to take a shot at the yote. Naturally as soon as i took the shot i caught black blur take off 200 yards away in the adjacent clearing  :bash:

Add insult to injury i missed the darn yote  :chuckle:
