Dayton - Spring Bear Permit
« on: March 22, 2012, 07:25:53 AM »
I know myself and Rufous and have drawn, any others on here get drawn for Dayton, how about Blue Creek?  Both great areas with excellent opportunity for those willing to work for it.

Anyway, love to hear from you, have a great day.

y'all go find that cinnamon bear i shot at in the Blue Creek unit!  damn thing was full-on maroon!   :yike:  if only i'd held a bit more steady...

out of 4 bears, i've only shot one black one.  the others have been brown/blonde.  all in the Blue Creek unit.  shoot, i've only SEEN 3 "black" bears!

And then there is the guy, who while hunting cougars with Rufous mentioned that he wasn't sure if he was gonna put in for the spring bear tag this yr.  Rufous replied that it didn't matter now as the deadline was yesterday.
It never changes, but it is always different.

Can't wait to see what you come up with.  I didn't even put in this year, I knew my spring would be chewed up with out of town/state shooting matches with the rifle team.
Good luck, I'll be living vicariously through you...

Watched a big boar tonight for an hour or so.  I think he may be pushing 400lbs.   Couldn't get closer then 390 yards and just wasn't comfortable with that long of a shot, hopefully next trip I can close the difference
