I'm not sure of that but I can tell you I spent almost all of last week in the area and there isn't really any snow. Its just very wet and muddy.

Watched a big boar tonight for an hour or so.  I think he may be pushing 400lbs.   Couldn't get closer then 390 yards and just wasn't comfortable with that long of a shot, hopefully next trip I can close the difference

Man I hope you can put the drop on that bruiser. Good luck, Rufous.

Phool,
Not like you to take blurry, out-of-focus pics (that's more my department ;)  ).  Were you running away, or up a tree...? :chuckle: :chuckle:

Phool didn't take that pic, that is on a Dayton locals property I think, that picture has been going around for a week or so.  Here is the paw print that goes with it, I have it on camera for an hour on Sunday night but was just out of range.

I'd sure like to see you get him.     If you don't, you know he'll be up there eating elk calves like popcorn here in another week or two...

I still really think that the spring bear hunt over here in the Blues should run May 1 to June 15. Much of the unit is normally inaccessible due to snow until sometime in May so we end up bunched up hunting the few decent areas we can access (as well as wasting time checking areas we hope might be accessible and then getting stuck in the snow). It pisses me off that Fish and Game is so out of touch with the reality of spring bear hunting over here. This is supposed to be a prime hunt so why not make it even more prime by extending the hunt into mid June? The bear hunting only gets better later in May and into June. What do you all think? I think we should really put some pressure on Fish and Game. They run the Wenaha hunt into mid June and I see no reason not to do the same with the other units in the Blues.

I don't understand why they all are not open till the 15th of June either, but I only apply for one area anyway so it doesn't affect me.  But I do agree with you.
“In common with”..... not so much!!
