Big Boys Finally Show Up
« on: March 22, 2012, 09:42:22 AM »
We've had from 25 to 125 turkeys all winter. They've been eating me out of house and home.  All winter there were 10 jakes and no big toms. Yesterday 5 big toms came off the mountain and joined the hens and kicked out the jakes. These are pics from this AM. They roost behind the Lodge and we can sit in the living room and watch them fly off the roost. Pretty cool seeing 100  B-52's flying off the roost and landing in the front yard! Putting on a good show strutting.
Thanks for all for your past support...We officially pulled the plug and have retired from the Biz. Still dabble a little in real estate.

I'm new to the east side and I have been having a blast watching the turkeys in the backyard. Last night I put several Toms and their girlfriends to bed last night not more than 150 yards from the back door. This is going to be my first year hunting them and I am excited that I already have my eye on a bird. It still amazes me just how quite they are when they take flight from their roost.

Good luck to all and I can't wait to see all the pics that will be posted.

Nice photos!  Gotta like the wing-tip drag marks in the snow!
