I have a vacuum chamber for stabilizing. spalted woods  Burl's are softer woods. I use the vacuum to put resin in the call acrylic like.  Expensive like $10.00 blank if i bought the blank. Rick

so it pretty much fills in the pours of the wood to make it more solid? does that change the sound of the call or just make it more durable?

I can tune it up or here is how it works. Tap the top block out. It is tapered put back in same way. the reed should be even with the tip of the trough. Push block in slow. Rick
