WA Wolves - more than estimated
« on: March 23, 2012, 11:23:58 PM »
Was listining to the local radio station - KCRK 92.1 and they were saying that WDFW or someone came out and admitted that their estimation of the population of wolves in WA was under by about half

something like 10 packs already

trying to find the link, anyone know where KCRK got that information?  I didn't catch it all was hoping someone had a link or statement.

hoping it'll speed delisting in WA

Then they went on to talk about ID and extending the season and such

The Spokesman Review had an article either yesterday or day before saying there was ten packs. Better add 5 to that if the game departement is reporting that.  :mgun:

There's a presentation for the commission that talks about wolves it's somewhere on this page.

What's the most dangerous thing said in the US Navy? -- A Chief Petty Officer saying "Watch this s$%^!!"

"I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction: 'I served in the United States Navy.'"

Thats about right.  Donny Martorello said cougar population estimate are really only about half of whats out there.  He siad they really have no way of knowing how many kittens and subadults are out there so they dont include them in the numbers.  Probably the same with wolves.

With the other states watching this closely to see how our state responds/reacts to the problem,  WDFW wont be able to play the " dumb " card like they have up until now.....

I talked with a person from IFG at the Bighorn Show.....unofficially, he acknowledged there may be some head butting going on between the states over the Woodland Caribous tenuous future.....

They won't be butting heads for much long. I'm afraid that the fate of the Woodland Caribou has been signed. Those 45 animals could be gone in 2 years.
