Grand Coulee area
« on: March 24, 2012, 12:09:48 AM »
Just curious if anyone will be doing some fishing in the Grand Coulee area this weekend through next weekend?  Banks lake, Rufus, Roosevelt?  I currently live in Grand Coulee and spend all my off time fishing the area from shore.  If your gonna be in the area let me know if your looking for a fishing partner for the day.  Thanks

Hit the shores of banks today.  Seems as though the trout are starting to pick up a little bit.  Got two 16"-18" rainbows.  Let me know if someone is heading this way.

Well, I dont think many of you are headed this way to fish.  Might be a good thing though as when I hit the shores of banks today, I only had one little nibble first thing in the morning.  No fish hooked today.  Maybe tomorrow I will hit Rufus at the net pins or give Banks one more go.  Good luck to you all.

Hey Aaron, have they refilled Banks yet? I know they drew it way down last fall. I wont be over that way until June. Do you live there all the time?

I fell short of seeing it yesterday, but a week ago it was well on its way to filling back up.   Side ponds and stuff had water again

Yep, its back to 100% full.  I live here currently, but will be moving to Davenport the first part of May, so I wont be over here fishing as much then but will still make a trip or two each month.

The fishing sucked this morning, rain and not a single bite.  I dont know where I'm going to fish tomorrow with the weather.

Nope, never been to Lemore.  I have never headed that far south before.  How is the fishing there and the surrounding lakes?

Lenore is single barbless hooks, no bait. I do well trolling various trout/salmon spoons with leadcore line. Keep you eye on your depthfinder, Fishing should be great if the winds is not blowing. Electric motors only. There is some real hogs in that lake!

Its slow over at Roosevelt, picked up a couple a couple weeks back. Talked to the owner of Coulee Playland and they caught a few off his dock at Banks but that took all day. On the Coulee city end I saw 2 guys fishing so that end must be slow also.

The guy at coulee playland tolde the trout have been biting very good, just not for me after that first day.  I'm now down on Rufus, just below grand coulee dam, so we will see if its any better here.

I will be over fishing Rufus from the Bridgeport side this coming weekend. I will post a report when I get back. Two weeks ago it was painfully slow, not a single bite and everyone I spoke to said the same thing. I was hoping for better weather but it doesn't look too promising.

I was thinking about going to the net pins on Sunday if the weather is good.  I didn't catch a single thing today on Rufus.  Its painfully slow everywhere around here.

Went to the net pens on Rufus today.  Everyone else was catching something except for me.  I guess I had the wrong bait.   :dunno:

Seems as though from what some of the people said, it might be picking up a little bit there at Rufus.  As far as banks goes, still nothing there.  Was told the trout are spawning now so it will be hit and miss for a bit.  I think tomorrow I will hit FDR lake at spring canyon and see if anything has showed up yet.  Good luck all.

We were out on Rufus on Saturday for 2 hours and managed 2 nice trout (not trips) and lost 2. Still very slow in my opinion. Wanted to get out on Roosevelt but did not make it, and it is still fairly low.
