Snake river bucks
« on: July 30, 2008, 01:49:25 PM »
I have seen a lot of posts on high bucks and blacktails. I know there are some nice bucks taken over by the snake river every year so lets see some photos. I have been hunting there for some time and have seen some dandies taken over there. As soon as I figure out how to put full size pictures up I will post a few of my own. The bottom photo was a great opening day, we saw thirteen legal bucks that day. The next day my girlfriend missed a buck that was about 28" wide and was really heavy. It was her first shot at a deer and it was only 100 yards, Needless to say I felt worse then she did when the buck ran off.

I want to see the pics, go to additional options under where you are typing, browes, click on the pic you want to attach and hit post.
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

I am new to the site....enjoy the pics, so I thought I'd post a few since this is my neck of the woods.  All archery - bucks '07 / bull '06.  Hopefully they show up.

Thanks for the welcome!  I thought I would contribute a little since I used the site so much as a "non-member".  Now I will slink back into the shadows.....LOL.

The mule deer buck in the second photo came running over the ridge after being shot at in the canyon. I dumped him on my first shot and when I walked up on him he had a whole in his antlers. Somebody was focused more on the rack then on the shot.

Here's a picture of my nephew's buck from last year that he took on public ground during the general season next to Clarkston on the breaks of the Snake.  It was his first deer, and he didn't have a clue what he was doing, but I got him through it without anybody getting hurt!  Needless to say he was pretty proud, and I had more fun than if I had been the one doing the hunting.

Bring a GPS!  It's awkward to have to eat your buddies!

And here are a couple of pics of some Clarkston bucks I'll be chasing in town during archery season.  There are bigger ones in town, but these are the biggest ones I've seen on the places I have permission to hunt.  Hopefully one of them will stand still for an arrow this fall!
