Dude go Scout and find your own spots... !  So many people in the country are getting pathetic, everyone wants a hand out!  ( you go find yourself a great spot, then share it on here and see a hundred guys there the next year, see how that makes you feel)

With rising  fuel prices guys less willing to give up freely  time and expenses scouting.

I helped quite a few on here and have had 2 of my prime hunting spots ruined because people I helped brought their family and friends to areas after I asked them not to.   :bash: :bash:

A sponsor on here,  Bearpawoutfitters , sells maps of scouted areas. Would check with or book a hunt with him. He is very knowledgable.

That's one thing I have prided myself on.  I have done a fair amount of scouting when I can but mostly on google maps.  I have received 4 spots, 1 for deer and 3 for elk from guys on here and do not go there with anyone other than my 10 year old son.  There is no way I would EVER take anyone else to those spots.  I have never killed anything at those spots and have only seen a few animals there but, respect for someone else's hard work and time is enough for me to do whatever I can to keep others out of there.

AS for COlfax not many Mulies but a few here and there. Like someone else said you def want to head closer to the river. Lots of feel free to hunt down that way along the  snake also email the wdfw and they will give you a list of farmers who want people to come hunt mulies(however many like you to atleast have a mulie doe tag.)....

Try Okanagan County....lots of deer, Hunters and land, but hike a little ways off the road and you will lose 95% of the other "Hunters".

:yeah: Set up a base camp and satellite out from there.  Keep records over the years about the sign and other people's kills, keep an ear out for hunting stories from people you meet up there and pretty soon you'll have several areas to hunt.  Remember it is called 'hunting.'

best advice is to pick a area that interest you..look at maps, roads, trail and etc...scout it then hunt it you will learn alot form 1 year of hunting the area if you wanting to keep hunting the spot or not. If doesnt pan out try another spot next year..sooner or later u will find your "spot" I think its pretty easy to do if your willing to hike..most never get a mile off the road

C-post is a joke on here. These guys are not going to help you,you are on your own. You are about the thousandth guy asking wher to . Pick a spot and check it out.

Okanagon has been in the dumpster for the past few years.

Not to pile on but I'm going to.  cwebsterdeerhunter, If you go here:

http://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php?action=profile;area=showposts;u=12734

You'll see your post history.  16 posts and 10 of them are "help me find a spot".  In one post you say you've been hunting elk 20 years.  In another you say you've been hunting elk 40 years.  Either way, if you've spent that much time in the woods and can't find animals, there's something wrong.  Many people (probably with less time to scout that you have) have spent a fraction of that time in the woods and get in the middle of animals every year.

I'm not saying I haven't received my share of charity here.  I can say that I have received more than I have been able to give but, I do give when I can.  The group of people here will bend over backwards to help someone out who has shown the gumption to get out there and help themselves first or have passed on knowledge and knowhow to others but, hardly anyone here is going to give out info to a guy who has 2/3 of his posts asking for a handout.  Just go to the political forum on here and you'll see that this place is full of guys who hate welfare.

Good luck in your 2012 season.
