I believe on of the photos was of a trapped wolf near Grangeville ID, that was posted on a trapping website, the picture is no longer up.

we really need to be careful about what we post, this photo has the puppy pimps fired up and it would be unfortunate if this grows to the point that management decision are effected by photo of an abnormal event ( apparently some kids were taking pot shots at the wolf while in the trap)

all info gleaned from the internet  :dunno:

I thought we were gonna get pics of dead wolves.  Maybe I can find a calendar with 365 dead wolves.

Unreal. I can't believe the part where they state "hundreds of animals have been killed, mostly by hunters"... Yeah not to mention cars, disease and WOLVES!  :bash:

Reading crap like this really irks me. The damn press gets a story and writes it in a way that is one sided. This media group is pretty well known for this. Some of the comments were ridiculous. These people read one article from a biased source and automatically think they know it all. I don't care who writes it or were it is from there is no such thing as unbiased journalism and it is the readers responsibility to do their own research before jumping to conclusions but no, the general populace just takes everything without question, without thinking for themselves. Wish people would get the facts before they got up on their soapbox. Now I'll get off mine. :sry:

Well- the picture was completly tasteless and the wolf does appear to be suffering.  I don't blame the anti's for using it. It even makes me not want to see foothold traps out in the woods. What an idiot for taking the pictures, let alone sharing them. :puke:

Just because it's a wolf doesn't mean that it should suffer a miserable death.

The furor is about all the blood in the snow. If it wasn't for the blood I doubt if it would have been  such a good picture for the wolf preservationist groups.
One thing to made clear, the blood wasn't from the trap. It was from the gunshot wounds when the kids shot it with 22s. Not the trappers fault it looked so bad. Also there probably wasn't much blood involved. It really shows up on snow. If it had been on bare ground I think you wouldn't have seen any blood.
Should it have been posted on a public forum? Probably not but I have seen a lot of pictures on here with blood in the shot.
We should all be carefull about what we post but I think this is all being blown out of proportion.

I am so on the fence about this, not anti or pro wolf. But anti or pro suffering of the wolves,. UNfortunately the same fear and terror that the wolf was feeling in his last inutes of life we're the very same he's probably put into many deer and elk he's taken down. However at the same point I hate to see any animal suffer,,,I just don't know.

before evryone passes judgement on traps watch this...maybe the people ought to show a wolf eating the calf out of a fenced in cow,or a half eaten dog on a leash...

Sure, we don't want to see an animal suffer but don't have unrealistic expectations. Wild animals don't die peacably in their sleep. That wolf was going to die someday. We all do. I doubt that it would have gone any easier under other circumstances.
The trap, I just don't believe it would have caused pain. I'm sure there was panic but is that really suffering.
The kids shooting it with 22s, that is certainly a fluke not likey to be repeated but  is that worse then being ripped apart and eaten by one of it's fellow wolves during lean times.
I read where that wolf was 9 years old. I'm sure she gave more then she got.

Footloose Montana is so upset over an anonymous threat. This guy has received over a thousand threats. There has been a $1000 bounty posted on his life and they have posted his phone#, e-mail and address on line.

The huggers are just looking for media exposure and the media always supports the huggers.  :twocents:

I say start posting pictures of wolves eating the guys on not dead yet fawns and calfs. You have to know that the wolf lovers are the ones who posted pictures of the maimed or dead wolf. What comes around goes around.
