south side has more bears, better area also..puyallup river is the boundary the hunt is south side only,no eatonville..had a long talk with clyde today,,you newbies watch your speed and pay attention to the rules..No slack for breaking them thar rules...

I talked to Clyde a few weeks ago. Seems like a really good guy. No reason to speed or break the rules anyway.

My dad pulled Kapowsin this year, I am hoping to hit a few spots that we did last year. I was just getting to know the lay of the land then the season ended. I had a few bears pretty vocal right at dusk.

I had a White River Permit for elk hunting a couple of years ago and never seen a Hancock employee the entire time I was scouting or hunting.  It seems like they watch over the Kapowsin farm a lot closer than their other properties from the stories I have heard.  Regardless I follow the rules, so I'm not worried about meeting Clyde. Besides, I bet that he knows a lot of good areas to scout and hunt since he spends so much time in there.

clyde is a good guy,but he has to deal with a lot of jerks,,he is running radar today, said he saw a small cougar just inside the kapowsin gate walking the mainline..pet owners on the edges might start having some problems..

Yeah he B.S'ed with me for quite awhile. He was really nice. He told me about some of the jerks. I don't blame him for being strict, it's his job.

So if you don't pay for the yearly pass and get drawn for spring bear, your able to go in there for bear only? And is there a fee for these folks?

on another note, Rasbo, it seems you've some insight to the area. I would'nt mind meeting up with you sometime and maybe share some info.

yes they will pay for access while spring bear is going, bear permit holders can go drive in all the walk in areas to hunt,,annual holders must still walk into those areas for any other reason.

Do annual permit holders have to walk in to the walk in areas if we have a spring bear permit?

Doesn't WDFW require that I have the permit on my person when hunting? Maybe I should just bump into Clyde and talk to him to make sure I dont get my permit taken away.
