Doesn't WDFW require that I have the permit on my person when hunting? Maybe I should just bump into Clyde and talk to him to make sure I dont get my permit taken away.
they should give you a permit that goes on your dash or window

I hunted over a dozen times last year for spring bear and didn't run into clyde once. Claudia said he is a really good guy and is willing to help out with the spring bear tag holders.

I love the idea of the "escapement areas" and  really wish they would leave them closed. I was hot on foot to fresh track and scat last year when another spring bear hunter pulls and asked" have your seen any bears" :bash:

I haven't recieved anything regarding another permit for my spring bear hunt should I be contacting Claudia? I have the annual pass, and was drawn for spring bear.  I have been going to the tree farm for years I just haven't drawn a spring bear tag before so this is new to me.

I got drawn for spring bear this year but haven't been out there for about fifteen years. Hope it goes well. Can you bring someone in with you? I had total knee replacement last year and have a disabled permit. Walking is not a problem, but hiking over uneven terrain not so good. Any ideas?

I drew Kapowsin as well and had the same question.  Their annual permit rules state pretty clearly that it is only the permit holder and their immediate family who get access.  Does anyone know if the limited spring bear permit would allow a guest?

I have had that permit in the past and yes they let me bring in one person with me. That person could not hunt though, just ride along and help if I got something down.

Last year I was able to purchase a passenger pass for my dad for $100.

I urge anyone with questions to call Claudia at the main office 1-800-782-1493. She is very helpful. If she doesn't answer leave a message and she will call back quickly.

I wish that the annual pass would let you choose who you want to hunt with. It allows wife and children under 18 but I don't hunt with them. If they would let you choose 1or 2 people that that would accompany you and only you, I would purchase a pass and a camping pass every year.

I got a letter last week stating the permits are available.  Call and talk to Claudia.  She can sell you a permit over the phone and mail it out UPS, so you get it before the weekend.

No Claudia said that there wasnt a map or packet if you are an annual permit holder.  You cant hunt beyond the bridge gate, Eatonville or Wilkeson areas of the tree farm for spring bear.

So how did all of my fellow permit holders do in Kapowsin in the first couple of days since the seasoned opened?

I probably wont make it out for a couple of more weeks due to to prior obligations, but I hope some Yogi's are hitting the ground for you guys.  My buddy went out on Sunday and said that he only heard of one bear being taken, but it was about an 80 lb yearling. He went back in Monday and hit some of his usual spots and said there was very little sign in the damage areas that he has hunted in the past.  Hopefully everyone else is having better luck.
