I have drawn 2 years in a row now, I did not bother paying for it last year and I have not decided wether or not I will this year either.  I probably will though, just to try it at least once.

Dont you lose your points if you dont buy the permit?  Why dont you just put in for the points option if your not going to buy the permit, otherwise you are just wasting money on a permit application?

I guess so far everyone is planning on 121 for their late destination

Good idea, I hadn't thought of it. Should be a lot of 4 point whitetails running around. See ya there!   :)

I will be there too!

You and about 7000 more people that have an extra three months of hunting experience under their belts...

7500 apps last year, 8000 permits this year.  It's like a frickin' $181.50 "Participation Ribbon".

You're all winners in the WDFW's eyes!  Group hug - bring it in!  :chuckle:

Yes, you lose points but it doesn't matter anymore, because you no longer need points to draw a deer multi-season tag.

I wouldn't shoot a spike on a free tag.

I wouldn't either in the early season (but the last day I would).

That was just an example.

The point is my standards will be higher with a $225 tag versus a $43 tag.

i've drawn deer 2 years in a row, paid for it last year before the Discover pass imposition and now that the state is perhaps going to sell out the muzzleloaders(?), and now that the greedy bureaucrats have decided to double the number of MS permits for deer and elk, well im probably not, most likely not, going to bother to pickup the MS tag. I got better things to do with my money then feed the friggin state. Hell just because of the DP i was planning to run strictly barebones this year. no extras or youth donations like i used to do, nada. They raised license fees last year too. I'm fed up with the greed of this state. Last year i was looking at Michigan. for $195 i get two deer tags and turkey, and a nice road trip out of the deal. Found a couple guys in the UP looking for another hunter for ten days, total cost $340. All i had to bring was my personal gear and sleeping bag. They did all the shopping and put up a 20ft long wall tent.

My standards are still the same with a $200 tag vs a free tag.

I think it's time for another poll: how many people would pass up smaller bucks that they would have taken if they had not spent $225 on a multi-season tag.

I guess it would depend on if you're more a meat hunter or more a trophy hunter. Me, I guess I'm more in it for the meat.

It would be somewhat of a "trophy" tag for me. (if I choose to buy it)

If I'm hunting early archery season and see a spike, I'm not going to shoot it with a $225 tag.

With a $43 tag, I might consider it.

That's the point I was getting at

$181.00 for the purpous of being able to hunt with 3 weapons.. Now if you could kill 3 animals well then you have something there, but just to kill 1 I'm not that stupid to pay that amount of money..I don't see how anyone can justify this..

Oh yeah,,I didn't draw, so I just get to kill one elk this year  :bash:

The MS fee is $225 this year? Does'nt matter to me. Im not gonna vacilate on this. I will not be pulling the trigger on the MS tag. i just cant justify that kinda doreme to shoot a deer. Ill wait tii next year for the elk MS and probably not pickup on that either, unless there is a real sea change in the WDFW. I kinda like the idea of paying $6.50 to scewem outta $180 or whatever they decided it should be this year.
