Bear Tracks

Came across this track  yesterday and thought he was a big boy. Any ideas from all of you out there on how big this bear is?? My buddy and myself think he may be worth chasing.

Yeah that is a solid track for sure! I wish I had your luck! All my bear hunting costs me money. I wish I could find a bear that left 100.00 bills in it's tracks for me  :chuckle:

Forget the bear, I would put the hunt on the guy dropping Benjie's all over the woods!

Looks like a decent track of the back foot ...did you get a picture of the front foot ...just a little easier to judge the size by the front foot ...and I wish I had 100 bills in my pocket to go scouting with  :chuckle: 8)

The snow melting around it might have made it bigger than it is, but still worth looking into if you ask me. Never seen a bear with such loose pockets.

Yep, that's a big one. Maybe a 7 footer. Prolly go 5-7 hundred pounds. Did you whistle to see if he was close by? Prolly already saw you with his viper vision. No point in trying to track him though cuz his tracks will just end up stopping abruptly. Prolly where he decided to go by tree. Hard to track after that. At least you know there's a 'squatch in them woods now. And this is no laughing matter! >:(

Give yourself a pat on the back for that one.

saylean it was fresh snow.. maybe 45 from bare ground to snow and that was there after we turned around and stopped. So what you see is what you get.

Seriously though, looks to be a bear worth investigating. Were you scouting for a spring tag or waiting til fall?

Yeah the front track is always the best for guessing the size of a bear. That one is melted out so it's hard to tell. I still think it is a solid shooter class bear.
