sharing a shed honey hole that I found

I was reading a thread earlier today about dogs chewing on sheds and remembered this place that I took pics of last November. All of the sheds were being cut up for dog chews and being sold around the country. There were thousands of them inside the building and out. There were deer, elk and moose sheds everywhere. There was a guy just cutting them up into pieces with a very large bandsaw. I thought that it was interesting and when I wanted to take pictures the guy said okay and left me there by myself. I guess that he really did not want his picture taken.

Crying shame to see all those sheds going for dog treats.
They should be going to Bearmanric or Rainshadow for predator call/custom knife sweetness. 

Awesome pics. I would have a hard time working there. I would pull one out to cut and be like, "Oh, look at this one, look at the kicker!"....

after 10 minutes of checking it out...

"Nice, check this one out, look at the chocolate color!"...

by then it'd be break time.

   Maybe he set up shop at another location?   Maybe this is the secret antler location and the one at his home is the wasted meat and skull cap location, who knows?

I would think that it would take a pretty large farm to get these thousands of antlers from.

Nauseating to me when you add a huge commercial operation and sheds together. Sorry. I would rather see an artisan working from a smaller stack of sheds taken care of, than someone moving them with a forklift.

It appeared to be a one man operation. I have been waiting to see if anyone recognizes where this is. I think that if I am correct on what this is and how it came to be, you would approve very much by your family posts.

Ennis Montana is correct. I figured with this many members someone would get it. Ennis is just outside of Yellowstone. I have read in the past that the Boy Scouts have first access in areas for fund raisers. I don't know if this is the case here, but that is my guess. I just don't know how else they gather so many sheds at one location. These picture were just from one day that I stumbled onto them. Who knows how many go through there. I went through there 24  years ago and tried to find this spot last November. I was pleased when I found it again.

My buddies & I used to sell our antlers to Don in the eighties, good people - he has some great collections. Also one day he showed us a 15-16 pound elk antler he had found in one of his honey holes. Nowadays his son Tony works with him. Great place to visit - they have a store, lots of cool  things to checkout,

Joe Watt is a free for all come May 1st.  The boys scouts and most others dont stand a chance against the guys on horseback.  I went over 3 years ago to try and get some sheds and I will never make that mistake again.
