New gun

What rifle should I buy for deer, elk Bear? I have made up my mind on 30-06 but I can't decide on the model. I have thought of Savages , Remington 700, Tikka T3, and I have heard about Ruger American Hunter. Any opinions help .

all will work great, savage has a sweet trigger, tikka is light and smooooooth action and uber accurate. Personal preferences.

I love my Tikka, I love my savage. JohnVH pretty muched sumed it up. Head into a gun shop and take a look at em, see which one tickles your fancy the most. Either way, your getting a new gun!~

Haha thanks guys yeah I am only 15 so I will try to get to Cabelas ar something during Spring Break, who knows what I'll find .

If you are gonna go with a Remington 700 buy the higher end ones like the Mil spec, or Sendero SF 2, both are outstanding but they are gonna cost around $1100.  The Quality control on Remington's lower end like the SPS is really slipping.

Hands down get a tikka. Just added 2 more to the collection in the last couple of weeks. My family has more then a few and they are all great guns. We have some that have been around the world and all across the usa. One of the best deals and guns out there

Maybe look at the Savage Weather Warrior, I bought one for the wife, they are pretty decent.

Tikka or savage both good choices.......not the remington though. Even the really "nice" 700 CDL stainless fluted i bought was poorly put together.

What was wrong with your 700 CDL?

Bolt handle was poorly placed or machined(not to mention i cant believe they still solder them on) to where the bolt handle and action started to hit and mushroom the steel away from eachother.  It also had one misfire where the pin dropped upon closing of the bolt. I took apart everything and put it back together adjusted to my satisfaction and wants after that and it didnt happen again.

When I went home I took apart two older remingtons, a 1976 BDL? and an early 80's sportsman 78 and they both felt nicer than my 2008CDL.

I've heard that the magic date for getting a nice remington is prior to 2001.
