« on: April 09, 2012, 10:36:48 PM »
I will be working up some loads for the new 300 grain 338 dia Accubond in my 338 Lapua. First impressions, it's a big bullet  8)
About 1.7380 long, the MK runs about 1.7220. .0160 longer for the AB.

I have been thinking about getting some real quick for my bear hunt but I will probably stick with the 200's for now. They are going to be sweet for sure!!!!!

I wonder how they would do in my 338 RUM?
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

Does your rifle have plenty of freebore to play with before hitting the lands?

Yeah they should make for some killer big game hunting bullets in all the 338's.

I started a topic right after I got my paper work from them. I had a hard time not spilling the beans when I learned they were working on them!

I wonder if they will be able to archive lower velocity than other 300 grain bullets because the longer bearing surface? Since they are exactly the same as other weight accubonds just longer in bearing surface?

How long of barrel would you need  to get maximum velocity? Maximum accuracy? I'm thinking 26" at least?
