Well yesterday was a bust, the birds we were after escaped us. This morning we came up empty again at first light, the birds came off the roost and went the wrong direction again so we switched to plan B and things came together. We put 2 down about 7am, a 9 1/2" and a jake which tagged out my hunter.

Chip flew into Spokane from Mississippi last week and hunted Idaho first but came up empty. On Fiday and Saturday Chip hunted with me and on Saturday morning we hammered two nice toms 9" and 9 1/2" at different setups. Chip is working on two world slams this spring, he recently returned from Mexico where he fulfilled that part of his adventure, he did not score in Idaho but his two Merriam's from Washington kept the dream alive. After leaving Washington he headed to Oregon for his Rios, which would finish his two world slams. He is also trying to kill a turkey in every state that has turkeys, I guess I probably don't need to mention that turkey is his favorite specie to hunt.
I got a text message today that he was successful in Oregon taking the two Rios which means he finished two world slams in one spring. Congrats Chip.

92xj sacked up this great looking bear last week. After spotting the bear from an old logging road. We stalked it for about 150 yds and ended up taking the shot at about 20 yards, bear jumped stright in the air and only made it a few feet. Beautiful bear, congrats 92xj.

Here are the two birds we got Monday morning. I called in a big flock and about 5 heads popped up at 5 yards, two quick shots, but unfortunately we were on a steep hillside and they rolled 50 to 70 yards downhill through all kinds of brush as they flopped. We followed the feather trail to find them, obviously niether of these half plucked birds is a mounter.
congrats Randy, sorry about the steep hillside...
