Large Canadian Lynx finished
« on: April 12, 2012, 05:35:19 PM »
This piece turned out to be one of the toughest more challenging lifesize mounts that I have done. First of all there are not that many L/S Lynx forms to choose from. This cat was above average in size so I went with a "European Lynx" form which is quite a bit larger than your average canadian lynx. At one point I had this form in 22 pieces. In the end after 5 1/2 hrs of blow drying I thought it turned out nice. The customer, who I did the open mouth cougar coming down the rock for, was very pleased. I told him all he needs is a big tom bobcat for his North American cat slam. :)

Any body who can create a jigsaw puzzle like that and put it back together again has got talent.  None of this modern day snap together stuff. >:(  Great job Elkstuffer.

Great job Rick. Sometimes people need to see just how hard our profession really is so they can appreciate a job well done.

Looks really nice Ric, and to anyone who doesnt know, cutting up a form like that and building a new one to fit the cat is one oof the hardest things to do in taxidermy and to pull it off like Ric did says alot about his abilities. Great job buddy!!!!

Damn nice job, beautiful cat.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.
You are never to old to learn something stupid.
