Good scopes under $500?
« on: April 12, 2012, 09:45:21 PM »
I'm Feeling a little scope poor I've been buying rifles but not scopes, lol. With that said I'm wanting to get one for my new 28" pro hunter barrel. I've always been a Leupold guy but really don't have the cash to buy a $800 scope. I'm Looking for 4.5-14 to 6.5-20.

Pentax,Burris, Bushnell?

Thanks

I have Burris Fullfields, Nikon Buckmasters, and a Nikon Coyote special--all good, and well within the budget.
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

Bushnell elite scopes are also good for the money.

Have you seen the Redfields? They are made by Leupold, and have the same Leupold warrenty. You should be able to get a very nice scope in a Redfield for that price range!

I had the same budget when I bought the Nikon Monarch 4-16x42sf, love it!
18oz, lifetime warranty & it costs around $450 depending on the reticle you choose.

They look nice, just looked at Nikon Monarch 5-20x44 SF Matt BDC Ret. There are tons on Ebay with dealers that have the warrenty with them. Always a little nervous about ebay but always seems like I can save $50-$100 on a scope  :dunno:

I'm looking for a little more scope. I like to launch lead out to 600yds. I got a yote a couple years back at 617 and have taken several deer out to 550 and a nice bear at 475. I love long range shooting. With that said I've always used a Leupold 6.5-20x50 and practice a lot!!!
