According to some hunters that I met out in Quinault on Monday the heat make the bears move more so keep at it.  Once the guys I met was a pro hunter name Scott Haugen from Trijicon The Hunt on the Outdoor Channel.

I've done that damn fawn distress with my fawn decoy to the point where I wanna eat the b@stard... no luck yet.  Kind of eerie back in the woods when that thing is going off though.

what size firs you recommend?

Bears like to peel 8-15 inch tree's. They always seem to be around those area's. They like grass. Hand calls will work better put emotion into the call. Rick

Just finished 4 antler call's. These are very bad azz for awsome Raspy distress and do the slower wa   wa   wa  wa for Fawn distress. Rick

I called a deer in the other day using your call Rick. Got it to 60 yards then it just started eating! When I'd blow the call it would look then when I stopped it would feed again. Pretty cool. It was a buck, do you think the does would come all the way in?

Lots of times the does come charging in all amped up and darting back and forth trying to locate the injured fawn.  It's really funny to mess with their minds!  I've had them run in 20 feet looking around all frantic, they leave, I call again and here they come running back in.

If they have Fawns they can get a little cranky.
