Sorry it took so long to post. Yesterday really felt like the day. The sun came out after all that rain, I had a fresh trail through the tall wet grass, giant pile of poo in the grass........I was going to sit up there all day. Then the wind got squirrely on me. Swirled around a bit then flat did a 180 on me. That's when I decided to go to another spot. As I walked out I came across a tree that a bear did his scent marking on and broke off a big branch. I will post up some pic's later. I'm at work now. It was an exciting day, but no kill.

I really hope you get one, we all know you have put the time in! As for me I have been plagued by truck problems and we had to put my dog of 15 years down last week. I just haven't had any motivation to get out there. I have to live vicariously thru you.

Button Nubbs sorry about your dog, that sucks. As far as motivation, if you can get to Marysville or meet me half way I'll take you out with me. Don't give up, we still have 6 day's. I'm going to Westport fishing the next 2 day's but I'll be back Monday afternoon. I'll be hunting till dark Monday and all afternoon till dark Tuesday.

You're preaching to the choir Carp! I have put in more time and effort to fill this tag than the last 5 years of hunting combined! My bad ankles are the only thing slowing me down. I need more good drugs to knock down the pain! There is plenty of good sign out there, I can find fresh sign just about everywhere I go. I just can't seem to find the animals that are making that sign. It is frustrating to say the least.

Another tough night, I walked and glassed, and sat and watched, and nothing black and living! Crickey, what's a guy to do? I'll be ling cod fishing the next 2 day's then it's back at it for the last few day's. Maybe the break will do me good. Good luck to all of you hunting this weekend. I hope to see some pic's and read some success stories when I get back. Take care and be safe over the holidays. Mark

Sounds like you are getting your money's worth out of that tag, wished I was closer to go along with you some time and get to know you.

Way to work at it, and it's a good thing to have more that one hobby you love.
Go fishing, if all someone liked doing was hunting. Washington would be the wrong state to live in.

I'm back from Westport and getting ready for an evening hunt. Looks like others have had success over the weekend so I have my fingers crossed. I hunted hard Thursday and Friday eve's. Found fresh sign, trails in the grass, fresh poo and peel's but no bears. I will hunt hard this eve and tomorrow then I will be out of hunting time. It's the 2 minute warning, so I can't fold under pressure. Here some pics from the last 2 day's I hunted.
this is the trail in the grass I was following.
The next is of some giant poop
Then there is the broken limb that happened sometime in the hour since I passed it.
can someone tell me what kind of criier this head belonged too. Has long chompers like a beaver. The head was the size of a ferret head.

I'm hoping you tag a biggun. That would be so sweet to nail one last minute. Either way what a good hunt!
