I just finished this bear up yesterday and thought since it was spring bear season Id post up some pictures of it. This was actually a bear I had to save as it was taken care of  by another taxidermist quite a few years back. Make a long story short I had to retan the cape as it was not done properly . The cape was covered in green mold when I got it ,  so at some point the freezer must have been off for quite a while.  Origionaly it was a bear rug but the hide had some seriouse slippage from not being tanned properly by the origional taxi.I did end up doing a good sized patch on one side of the neck and some work on the right side lip to cover the slippage.
Well we decided to do a shoulder mount and add some habitat so this is what I came up with . I hand made the rocks and found a nice peice of wood that fit the mount. All in all I think I made a good save and Hope the customer is happy with the outcome. At least I was able to salvage something.

That's funny! NICE SAVE!!!! Turned out nice. Your customer has to be very happy. Some "lousy" taxidermist lost a customer and it appears that you have gained one my friend. Good Job.

I like the habitat, but I especially like the one cocked ear. What a natural representation of an animal in the wild.

Very nice job.
