Is it worth going salmon fishing above Bonneville dam??

Think it would be any good fishing above the dam this coming weekend? I want to get out and try for salmon but dont know if it is worth the trip or not. What are your thoughts??

Not worth the gas money right now. Give it a week or 2 and it will get good.

I would say go for it, me, my dad, and brother went to John Day Dam last thursday and hooked two springers, but only landed 1 and brought home about 8 pound steelhead. I looked at the count for the dam that day and only a few went over. Not just lucky we always catch a few at john day before we head down to strawberry island.

I am going to go for it. I don't have anything to do anyhow. I will be leaving Friday after work from Ellensburg and staying until Sunday. The fish counts should just increase everyday anyway.
