Someone turn the faucett off
« on: April 19, 2012, 04:11:12 PM »
Look up in the sky! Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No it's just washington rain! My gortex failed today, and my feet are soaked. Im thinking the turkeys must have wet suits on today! Not a peep to be heard.... I did see a mouse though! Not enough meat on him to go around, so I let him go...

Yuk.  The absolute wettest hunts I've ever been on were spring turkey hunts in Missouri.  Nothing like sitting at the base of a tree during a torrential thunder and lightning storm.
Look man, some times you just gotta roll the dice

 :yeah:
We had the same weather and it worked for us to get my partner his first bird of the season by setting up on a field edge. They started popping out into the field edge and we setup there ... although our butts went numb waiting 2-1/2 hours for them to come on in, the bird was 18-1/2 lbs, 8-1/4 beard, and 5/8 spurs .... nice 2 year old.
