Awesome Job
« on: May 05, 2012, 04:04:18 PM »
To veryone that got a Turkey....Awesome job, wish I could be in that boat but alas it has sailed!  Went hunting the 2nd weeknd with no luck, hunted all public land only heard a few birds!  The greatest thing though is that I made a new freind and got some better understndingo the territory, cannot wait until next year to do it again and get me a big boy and then go back east to Iowa and get me a big boy!!  Thanks Moose22 for the hospitality!!!!
Lord , we've been here on days before
and often times you've let me score
Now do you think that on this day
you could send a gobbler down my way?
And , if not , just let me say--
you've given me another day
to hunt the bird I love the best.
I don't mind sharing with the rest

It was a pleasure and a hell of a weekend. We'll hook up again.

 :yeah:
I'll take making new friends and discovering new territory over harvesting a bird any day ... but I must admit it's even better when you come home with full coolers.

I wondered where you have been ...so your telling me the whit whits did not do you any justice ....hunting is getting better right now .....I would in no means give up now ....I killed my bird with using whit whits ...the first encounter my boy and I had him fired up and he come in gobbling like crazy ...gets up on this rock and was screaming at us but would not come down to the decoys ...I let him walk off ...went back the next afternoon around 1pm went another 100 yrds where he came from the first time ..started to do whit whits and soft yelps ..about 10 min into it I did one soft cluck and he hammered one time about 35 yrds out and then walked into a wad full of #5s  :chuckle: I would definately try going one more time !!!
