Don't have my numbers/info readily available to give you better information, but my best grouping has been with Varget and a 70 grain hollow point from Speer; I do know that it was loaded at max mag length (2.75" if I remember correctly).  That's a 16" 1-7 twist AR; 5 shot in .38" at 100 with no fliers, the best part is it's consistently doing it when I can do my part.  It was .5", and then I added the Sims Deresonator and found a surprising 1/8" in group shrink when I got it to the right point on the barrel.

I use h335 in most of my 223 loads. Nope all on a single stage press :yike:

I assume you are talking AR type gun,as a bolt gun would use different load, with AR you want to economize and use powder that flows throug meter because you will use a lot.

Great point...   What kind of progressive reloader do you have?

I'm using varget since I just started reloading. I saw that a lot of people were using it. The good news is I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to overload a .223 with it. The bad news is I can't figure out how some people are getting more than 27 grains in there. 27 grains puts me at the bottom of the neck after I tap the case a bunch of times to get it to settle.

Compressing it will get you mor in ....
Coolio all... thanks for the info. Yes, AR15... 20" barrel. 5.56. (the 556 allows for a hotter load than the 223 right?)

Well gentleman...they are calling for 86 degrees here in Billings today. THe PD's and gophers will be sitting up tall!!!
