I hope she's just taking her time calling me!!!! What weapon did he choose and what area does he have the pass for, man that's a good tag. Hope he takes a monster.

It's the Kapowsin tag. He's not sure what season, but I'm pretty sure he's going to choose muzzleloader.

That is the cats meow

Special Elk Hunt

Each permit purchased before June 1st for Kapowsin Timberlands and Eatonville Forest will automatically be entered into a drawing to hunt elk during any bull elk season for GMU 654.  Six Kapowsin general public recreation pass hunters and one Eatonville general public recreation pass hunter will be drawn.  Winners will be notified by June 11th.

The Kapowsin winners may hunt on Kapowsin main block only, including Eatonville.  No recreation access is allowed on the Buckley block during any bull elk season.

The winners must specify which elk season will be hunted — modern firearm, muzzleloader or archery.  Hunters must comply with all Washington State laws and are subject to Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife seasons and regulations.

I think the draw date gets bumped up if they sell out before June first. Which they did a couple weeks ago.

This isn't a BS thread.  I know the guy, he was still shaking when he called me, I was the first guy he was able to get a hold of.  They haven't posted the winners yet, I assume that's what they are doing first.  They call the winners to make sure they actually want to hunt elk, then if they don't, I assume they go on to the next guy/gal on the list.

He made it facebook official about an hour ago, so you know it's real :)  He's on cloud nine right now, and to be honest, he's a hell of a guy and deserves this tag.

I got off the phone about an hour ago with Clyde the security person for hancock, and it's official! The last person that drew an elk permit was notified today. Damn, I was hoping people were pulling our legs. He also said the web site is getting a new server and that is why we can't get on, the name's of the lucky few should be posted by this weekend.  Good luck to those lucky one's that drew.

I tried to tell you guys ;)  I'm hoping I'll get to tag along for one day during the hunt, and I'll try and keep everyone posted on the progress from the third person.  Would be nice if they let more then one guy go with you for your hunt.  You need a spotter AND someone to film!

If I was him I would buy a camping permit and spend as much time as possible scouting, the only way I would have bought one of their overpriced camping permits was if I drew that elk permit.
